How do I uninstall Internet Explorer 8 ?

I hate Internet Explorer 8 ! I downloaded it with the anticipation it would make my computer better and faster when surfing the net. WRONG ! It slowed me down connecting to IE8, been freezing up, and some of my favorite sites are not compatible. How to I uninstall IE8 and go back to IE7 ? Please help..........
