Why do some people ume asking questions on R&S means I want to join a religion?

I posted a question earlier, and one of the responses I got was to the affect of "Well, how interesting you are asking questions in here, here's a link, come back to Christianity, because you are obviously seeking something more." My question here is this: Why is a curiousity about other peoples beliefs and asking questions to learn more taken out of context to mean that I, all of a sudden, want to join their religion? Is there no such thing as simple curiousity as far as this is concerned? Thanks in advance for all of your answers, and have a great day!
