Can anyone help name this anime/cartoon?

There is a show I used to watch but I've forgotten the name of it and much of the main details. It had competition battles and spirits that went into objects one was a sword and another a snowboard etc. One character had a long coat in which he had a skeleton in hoping to bring it back Can anyone help me find any shows which this might be?
