Christian Bale's Batman voice sound like clint eastwood??

DId anyone find this true as well? and sort of annoying? I loved the film thought the joker ( RIP Ledger) stoled the show, but the one annoying thing was Batmans' gruff Eastwood-esque voice. I know he does it to cover up his identity, but between that and his nose covered, made it difficult to understand him. What are your thoughts?
