Has anyone had a gas issue with early pregnancy?

I never have gas issues, I am one of those women who's mother was very strict on that "ladies" never display bodily functions. I am a month and a half pregnant and for the first time have a very bad gas problem, in my sleep. The thing is the odor is terrible unlike anything I have had before and it is waking my husband up from a sound sleep from the smell. If I was not embared enough by doing it, the smell is actually so bad it is making him ill. He got so mad at me last night he went and slept on the living room floor! I cried all night, I did not have a clue I was doing it and had no control, I did not have to use the restroom. Has anyone else had a problem with gas and any idea of how to fix it?
